It is a season of awards for the global automaker Changan, which is the oldest and one of the largest Chinese automakers.

Less than two weeks after its CS55 clinched the prestigious Car of the Year presented by the Nigeria Automotive Journalists Association to Mikano Motors, the brand’s sole franchise holder in Nigeria, Changan has earned another coveted prize in the faraway Gulf country of Oman..

This time, it is the UNI-K that was honoured with the ‘Feature-Rich SUV of the Year’ trophy at TAS Business Awards, during the fourth edition of The Arabian Stories Conclave.

At the ceremony, the award was described as a perfect acknowledgment of Changan’s commitment to innovation, quality, and driving experiences that resonate with the modern consumer. It underlines the brand’s growth as a dynamic force in the automotive industry, with a portfolio of cutting-edge technology, sustainability, and contemporary design.

Changan UNI-K’s stands out for its innovative and futuristic design. It’s harmonious and attractive exterior is embellished with a border less grille. UNI K 4WD is equipped with 2.0 Turbo Engine, 233 hp,8 speed automatic transmission, LED lights, Artificial intelligent and advanced safety radar features while its doors come with hidden handles and in addition to its elegant panoramic roof.

The interiors are very luxurious and spacious like business class offering to make the journey comfortable. The UNI-K comes from a company which currently has the distinction of being the number one premium Chinese brand in the GCC region.

The prestigious awards in Nigeria and the Gulf underline the brand’s growth as a dynamic force in the automotive industry in many parts of the world, including Nigeria.

At the NAJA Awards held on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at the Oriental Hotel, Lagos, the Car of the Year trophy for Changan CS55 was received by the Advertising Manager, Mikano International, Wura Orimolade.

Changan CS55 was nominated alongside two other popular competitors, Toyota Corolla and Kia Rio, but the journalists voted overwhelmingly for the WINNER, a richly endowed crossover SUV.
