Chelsea achieved one of the Champions League’s most impressive wins on Tuesday night, defeating Barcelona 3-0 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues were fortunate not to fall early when Ferran Torres squandered a chance to open the scoring.
Enzo Maresca’s men also had Enzo Fernandez’s goal called off before taking the lead on an own goal by Jules Kounde.
Barcelona were reduced to 10 men before halftime, as the referee showed Ronald Araujo a second yellow card.
Chelsea took advantage of their additional man, scoring twice after the interval via Willian Estevao and Liam Delap.
In the United Kingdom, Manchester City fell 2-0 at Bayer Leverkusen, while Newcastle threw away a one-goal lead to lose 2-1 to Marseille.
Juventus won a five-goal thriller against Bodo/Glimt 3-2 in Norway, while Borussia Dortmund crushed Villarreal 4-0.
