Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta has described their 5-1 Champions League victory over Sporting as “a big result”.
The Gunners started well, scoring three goals in the first half.
Gabriel Martinelli, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel Magalhaes found the back of the net before the halftime whistle.
Goncalo Inacio pulled one back early in the second half, but Bukayo Saka and Leandro Trossard extended the gap for Mikel Arteta’s men.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Arteta said, “I’m very happy. It’s a big result against a big opponent. We wanted to make that statement.
“I felt really good energy and belief before the match. The first half was exceptional, you have to put it into practice.
“We were really clever, really intelligent and really efficient, the way we attacked them.
“After we conceded, we showed a lot of personality to bring the game back and then we scored the fourth goal and that’s when the game changed again.”
