As the momentum gathers for 2025 gubernatorial election, Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election campaign is not just a political movement, it is a celebration of transformational leadership, visionary reforms, and a governance novelty that has earned widespread acclaim across Nigeria and beyond. The campaign is buoyed by a cascade of positive opinion polls and an overwhelming wave of endorsements from diverse stakeholders, signaling a strong mandate for a second term. Notwithstanding, this groundswell of support is a direct response to the “Soludo Solution”, a bold, pragmatic approach to governance rooted in fiscal discipline, structural reforms, and people-centric development.
The celebration is, in retrospect, a festival of a kind because under his leadership, Anambra State has witnessed, infrastructural renaissance unprecedented in the history of the state. Road constructions, bridges, and public utility projects across rural and urban areas have reduced commute times and opening up remote communities to economic developments. It’s not just a celebration but an opinion polls reflecting educational and civil service reforms. Investments in public education, teacher recruitment, and capacity building have revitalized teaching and learning. Civil service modernization efforts have enhanced transparency, efficiency, and service delivery. Yet, through the prism of digital connectivity and e-governance, Soludo’s administration is pioneering a tech-driven public service model that emphasizes accountability and citizen engagement through digital platforms.
The focus on agricultural transformation has led to the development of agro-industrial value chains, rural employment and agritourism, positioning Anambra as a hub for sustainable agri-business. Through the lens and compass of industrialization and economic expansion, public-private partnerships and investment-friendly policies, there’s been a surge in SME growth, industrial clusters, and job creation in the state. All this initiative is multiplying value chains in urban-rural integration and renewal that cuts across all communities. It’s not by accident the opinion polls driven campaign festival is an attitudinal response to good governance. Governor Soludo’s re-election campaign, therefore, is not built on rhetoric but on a proven track record. It is a celebration of good governance, innovation, and service. The people of Anambra, across political, and professional divides, are rallying behind a leader who has redefined public office. These opinion polls metrics and the endorsements, awards and publications sent a clear signal that Soludo deserves a second term not just as a political necessity, but as a developmental imperative for Anambra State.
As part of the celebration of his achievements, Governor Soludo was named “African Best Governor”, among several other accolades that reflect national and international acknowledgment of his impact in office. Coming at the same time were three of the awards at “2025 Global Power Forum (at UNGA, New York)”, namely; “African Public Service Excellence Award”, “African Governor of the Year Award and Certificate of Special Recognition from the South Carolina House of Representatives”. This positioned him as a global thinker, not just a local administrator and counters critics who claim he’s too “academic” or removed from reality. It’s not only a strategic campaign messaging but uplifts the confidence of the middle-class voters, diaspora communities, elite-business class and voters who want Anambra to be seen as progressively and globally relevant.
Local awards including that of the First Lady, are many, yet with a few that that demonstrates his competence and credibility. They are: “Governor of the Year 2024 (Urban Renewal)”, an Independent Awards, at Eko Hotel and Suites, Lagos and “BestPerforming Governor in Primary Health Care in the Southeast and Nigeria”. Other recognitions include: The Sun Newspaper “Governor of the Year in Good Governance”. Vanguard Newspaper “Governor of the Year in Economic Transformation” and the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN): “Icon of Societal Transformation”. Recognitions for Nonye Soludo (First Lady) include among others; “2025 Humanitarian First Lady of the Year (Healthcare & Child Support) award” by Nigerian Humanitarian Awards Magazine and Most “Supportive Governor’s Wife in SouthEast Nigeria awarded” by the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) in 2024. The significance of these awards and appreciations is a recognition of a people centered approach to governance instead of elite centered and rent seeking culture in Nigerian politics. The audience encompasses the women folks, children, elderly and healthcare workers with whom it builds emotional connections. There are numerous underlying themes and messages in the awards, namely , “A new Anambra that the world applauds”, “From vision to reality “, “Let’s finish the work”, “Soludo Works”, “Anambra rises”, among others.
Reinforcing his academic and CBN pedigree, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is a Technocrat with vision”, a thinking, visionary leader, a humanist, and stoic philosopher who blends global expertise with local action, and to quote him, “This is not politics as usual. I’m solving problems with data, planning, and global best practices.” Different from populist, transactional, elite-and rent-seeking politicians, he is globally recognized and locally rooted. His campaign strategies rooted in good governance and driven by developmental issues are narratives that go strength to the perception and sensibilities of the electorate. His recognitions and awards globally and locally are not only the crescendo of his acceptance and leadership endorsement, it gravitates to a validation of opinion polls confirming his election for the second term, come November 8, 2025.
