Celebrating International Women’s Day:  Engr. Janet Adeyemi Urges Collective Effort for Women’s Rights, Inclusivity

The national president of women in mining of Nigeria Engr. Janet Adeyemi,
commemorates International Women’s Day, saying  the global community pauses to reflect on the journey towards gender equality and inclusivity.
Daily Sun reports that it is Celebrated annually on 8 March, this day honors the invaluable contributions of women to society and underscores the ongoing struggle for gender parity.
Engr. Janet Adeyemi, in a statement sent to Daily Sun on Friday emphasized the significance of inclusiveness in the pursuit of equality. She stated, “We cannot afford to leave anyone behind as we keep pushing our vision forward. It’s our individual and collective responsibility to amplify the voices of those who have been silenced and excluded and bring everyone to the table.”
Acknowledging the challenges faced along the path to gender equality, Engr. Adeyemi expressed appreciation for the inspiring role of women worldwide in advocating for women’s rights and fostering more equitable societies. Despite the progress made, she acknowledged that there is still much ground to cover.
“We celebrate our achievements so far,” she remarked, “but we recognize that we are not where we want to be.” Engr. Adeyemi called for continued efforts to create a world where everyone has equal opportunities to thrive and succeed.
In her closing remarks, the former law maker extended warm wishes for International Women’s Day, urging individuals and communities to persist in their commitment to advancing women’s rights and fostering inclusivity.
