Celebrating Afro Pride: Firm unveils ‘My Hairitage’ campaign for World Afro Day 2025

Orange Group, one of West Africa’s foremost Fast-Moving Consumer Goods companies, has launched its “My Hairitage” campaign in celebration of World Afro Day 2025.

The campaign is a cultural tribute to Afro-textured hair, long regarded as more than just a fashion statement, but a proud symbol of identity, resilience, and heritage.

Across generations, hair in African societies has been deeply woven into tradition and self-expression. From intricate braiding patterns that signified lineage, to protective styles that reflected ingenuity, Afro hair has always carried stories of pride and endurance. The My Hairitage initiative seeks to honor this rich legacy by spotlighting the beauty and versatility of natural hair, while encouraging Nigerians to embrace their roots unapologetically.

Speaking on the launch, Uchenna Ezenna, Media and Communications Director at Orange Group, emphasized the importance of the campaign: “World Afro Day is about celebrating the uniqueness of African hair and the culture it stands for. Through the My Hairitage campaign, we are joining this global recognition by creating conversations that uplift, empower, and encourage pride in our natural roots.”

Central to the campaign is the #MyHairitage social media challenge, which invites Nigerians to showcase their hair care routines, styling tips, and personal stories. The challenge aims to amplify the collective pride in Afro hair by spotlighting real voices—ranging from influencers and natural hair advocates to everyday individuals. Alongside these personal stories, the campaign will also feature educational content on scalp care, hair health, and the cultural significance of Afro hair.

At the heart of the initiative is Hana Hair Cream, Orange Group’s trusted hair care product. Formulated to nourish, strengthen, and protect natural hair, Hana Hair Cream supports individuals in caring for their hair, whether through daily styling or long-term protective care. It stands as a companion for those seeking to maintain healthy, radiant, and authentic Afro hair.

With My Hairitage, Orange Group reinforces not just its role as a provider of quality and affordable products, but also as a cultural advocate, championing the beauty of African identity and heritage.
