John Ikeotuonye popularly known as CDO is taking gospel music out of the church.

Tagged: ‘Expression Campus Tour’, the programme will take several gospel artistes to 52 campuses across the country.

Speaking at a press briefing to unveil the show, CDO said the vision of ‘Xpression Campus Tour’ was to build a studio where gospel singers can gather to perform aside the church.

According to Ikeotuonye, ever since he took the vision as an assignment, God has been leading while he follows. He added that the campus tour, which will kick off at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife on March 30, 2023, would feature several gospel musicians.

“We have mapped out 52 campuses in Nigeria that we are storming, and we are starting from the South West and later we’ll move to other parts of the country,” CDO said of the campus tour.

When asked how the project is being financed, CDO said that all expenses are borne by him, with support from friends who see the project as an assignment from God, to take gospel music out of the church setting to everyone on the street.

Gospel artistes present at the media parley included Rita Obi, Timi Phoenix, Gaise Baba, Fega, Bouphy, and Mendo Ayo among others.
