CBAAC mourns FESTAC ‘77 Tam Fiofori

The Director-General, management and staff of the Centre for Black and African Arts and Civilisation (CBAAC) have sent their condolences to the family of Tam Fiofori, who passed on recently.

A condolence letter signed by Aisha Adamu Augie, Director-General of CBAAC, said Uncle Tam, as he was generally referred to, impacted on Africa’s cultural landscape in an immeasurable way. “His immense contributions to the success of FESTAC ‘77, Nigeria’s landmark festival celebrating African culture and unity, and the creative and cultural sector in Nigeria will never be forgotten.

“Please, be assured that you are not alone in your grief. We stand in solidarity with you, offering our support and prayers during this trying time. We celebrate the life and legacy of Uncle Tam, a distinguished icon in our community, whose contributions will forever be remembered and cherished,” the letter read.
