From Okwe Obi, Abuja
A Professor of Communication, University of Cross River State (UNICROSS), Jacob Agba, has recalled how President Muhammadu Buhari’s change of currency in 1984 stalled his opportunity to study in Norway.
Agba, who is the first indigenous professor in the department of Mass Communication, noted that the current cash crunch had made it impossible for him to to feed himself and his family.
According to his post on Facebook, he lamented: “Oh, PMB! Why have you become everything evil to me in the name of fighting corruption? In 1984, your passport and policy cause(d) my admission to study in Norway.
“In 1985, I lost N40 worth about N50,000.00 to your new Naira design. Since you came back to power in 2015, I have suffered progressive poverty to the point that as a professor in the university, I cannot fend for myself and family!
“I cannot own and drive a car of my own! Today, your new naira design is not only me to bleed to coma, but the whole nation is in chaos!!
“PMB, Nigerians cannot breathe! I can’t breathe! How long would you strangulate me and other Nigerians in the name of fighting corruption?”
