Cardoso leads Nigeria’s delegation at World Bank-IMF Annual Meeting in Washington DC as Edun is indisposed – Presidency

Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Olayemi Cardoso, will head Nigeria’s delegation to the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual Meeting scheduled to commence in Washington DC on Monday, October 13, 2025.

In a statement signed by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Cardoso, serving as the alternate Governor, will be stepping in for the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, who is currently indisposed.

The Nigerian delegation include the Minister of State for Finance, Doris Uzoka-Anete, representing the country during key discussions and sessions at the global financial gathering.

According to the World Bank, the Annual Meetings will feature critical sessions including the Development Committee Plenary on October 16 and the International Monetary and Financial Committee meetings on October 17.

These events will be complemented by regional briefings, press conferences, and forums addressing international development challenges, the global economy, and financial markets.
