From Aloysius Attah, Onitsha
It was, indeed, a memorable occasion for the people of Eziowelle community, Idemili North LGA, Anambra State, last weekend, as dignitaries and eminent personalities from all walks of life visited the community to witness the collation and elevation of Dr Joseph Onyekachukwu Nzekwesi as an International Archbishop.
Eziowelle is the country home of Francis Cardinal Arinze, former Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha and Prefect, Congregation for the Discipline of Sacraments and Liturgy, Vatican City, Rome.
The newly enthroned Archbishop, Dr. Onyekachukwu Nzekwesi, is the General Overseer of Jesus is Alive Church, with headquarters at Eziowelle, a thriving ministry in the gospel of Jesus Christ, committed to healing, salvation, and empowerment through prophetic calling and unwavering faith in God.
He is also a real estate mogul and the Chief Executive Officer of Pineleaf Estate and Properties Limited.
Nzekwesi, according to records and testimonies of people who know him, is a philanthropist that has touched many lives positively.
He was consecrated by Archbishop Brinsley Dickson, who is the Apostolic Shepherd and patriarchal leader of United Baptist Faith, Archdiocese Canada and St Ann Spiritual Baptist Church International, Ontario, Canada.
The elevation was also con-celebrated by Archbishop Dr Kene Don Ifepe, the founder and chief prelate of the Believers Full Gospel Church, Toronto, Canada, President and Editor-in-Chief of the Miles Magazine International, alongside other eminent bishops who collectively joined hands in the ordination.
Delivering a sermon before the consecration proper, Archbishop Kene Don Ifepe noted that consecration as a bishop doesn’t just happen, rather, it is a spiritual exercise that requires spiritual and divine guidance
“When you are called by God, something must happen. If you want to serve God and succeed in ministry, you must break limitations. The church is not your family’s inheritance. You must trace your father and roots in the kingdom. You must locate those men who will serve as your spiritual guide because you must be successful in the world system before God will take you to the spiritual system.”
The Archbishop charged those aspiring to be ministers and bishops to, first of all, find their root in the kingdom and avoid rebellion if they must grow in the kingdom.

“Find who you are in the kingdom. Rebellion will destroy you, avoid it. The richer you become, the more humble you should be”, he counseled.
He said that Dr Nzekwesi, by fulfilling the conditions precedent in the elevation as an International Archbishop, has pledged to deny all ungodly and unholy lust and live godly in the present world, while showing himself of good works with the grace of God.
Before he stepped out for the elevation, Dr Nzekwesi pledged to abide by the word of God. After the elevation, the entire bishops and Archbishop present laid hands on him, while the church joined hands and lifted his shoulder high as a symbol of the elevation.
A certificate was also presented to him from Canada, authorising him to minister, conduct marriages, and other things pertaining to a bishop both in Canada and elsewhere.
He performed his first official duty as an archbishop immediately by serving the Holy Communion to the faithful.
In a remark, the newly enthroned Archbishop Nzekwesi burst into songs of praise to God for His grace and marvelous work in his life. He appreciated all the bishops and archbishops present, expressing his delight on the positive development.
“I am so elated. The very first day that the archbishop’s visa was approved from Canada was the day I knew that God had made this possible for me. Thank you all for the labour in the vineyard all these years.
“I am so happy for a moment like this. As Isaiah prayed to God, Lord hold me in your hands, lest I fall, so do I pray too. By the grace of God, I will deliver on the assignment and discharge my duties diligently to the glory of God”, he pledged.
The entire members of Nzekwesi’s family, friends, and well-wishers expressed immense joy on his elevation and investiture.
