Arne Slot, Liverpool’s manager, has explained why Crystal Palace eliminated his club from the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.
Ismaila Sarr scored twice late in the first half at Anfield, giving his team a 2-0 lead.
However, in the second half, Yeremy Pino sealed the victory for the visitors after teenager Amara Nallo was sent off.

Speaking at his post-match interview after the game, Slot insisted that the Reds failed to push for a goal against Crystal Palace when they were 2-0 down because they were unable to do so.
“If you manage Liverpool, you know the pressure is there. I don’t think it has changed much after this loss,” Slot said.
“But if it did, then maybe the most positive thing about tonight was the position we were in, 2-0 down and we weren’t really pushing for a goal because we weren’t able to.”
Liverpool will now shift their attention to the Premier League this week as they prepare to take on Aston Villa on Saturday.
