• Says president showing commitment to strengthening security architecture

President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Archbishop Daniel Okoh, has commended President Bola Tinubu and his wife, Oluremi Tinubu, for Nigeria marking a historic milestone this year’s Christmas with no reports of church attacks, linking it to the President’s renewed security push.
He hailed their commitment to uplifting the poor, advancing national progress, and fostering peace across the country.
“I can tell you that this Christmas happened to be the first Christmas in many years that we are not woken up with phone call in the midnight to say that a church was attacked and it is a testimony we must share and we hope and pray that this will continue”, he said.

Speaking after a Christmas felicitation visit by CAN leaders to the First Family’s residence, Okoh described the gesture as an opportunity to appreciate the administration’s efforts. “This visit by the leaders of CAN to the home of H.E the President and his wife, the mother of the nation, Senator Oluremi Tinubu is to felicitate the first family this particular period of Christmas and to appreciate them for what they are doing,” he said.
Okoh highlighted the President’s focus on providing for the vulnerable and recent initiatives to ensure every Nigerian lives in peace.
The CAN leader also pledged continued partnership with the government. “We are also here to pledge our commitment to continue to work with the President for the development and progress of our country Nigeria,” he affirmed.
Responding to concerns over recent tensions sparked by comments from the U.S. President, Okoh praised Tinubu’s proactive response. “We will say that the President is responsive to the issue that have been raised. We are seeing the renewed efforts and commitment to strengthen the security architecture and to ensure that Nigerians are going out in peace and coming back in peace,” he stated. “Of course there is still a lot to be done but we know that the President has started very well and we hope pray that this will be sustained. and we hope that maybe by next year we will be able to see visible results of what is being done now.”
