Seven months ago President Bola Tinubu’s administration dropped the ball and opened it flanks for opposition to bring it down on the alter of lies, falsehood and political conspiracy concocted by both people within the same administration and some other folks.
This was done against the most important sector and flagship Ministry which is closest to the people, the Poor, the masses and was meant to directly address Poverty, Hunger and Hardship; The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation!
For an administration whose mantra is Renewed Hope, how else did you plan to renew hope without alleviating Poverty, ending hunger and reducing hardship? Today the small ulcer has turned cancerous and is eating up an entire administration.
Sadly not only was the Minister who was simply exceptional at work reaching down to the poor all over the country suspended, the Ministry and its social intervention programs were suspended, uncoordinated failed social interventions attempts were experimented by different ministries without any impact on the very poor and now finally the whole administration has now been suspended too as they can’t go to work but will need to hide at home for safety amidst violent protest by poverty stricken hungry Nigerians

Gradually over the course of seven months an administration that was beginning to gather momentum as at December 2023 and goodwill of the poor masses gradually snowballed into one that caused pain daily with nothing to cushion the effect of major policy decisions taken by the administration.
Yes the administration has taken some bold steps like Local Government Autonomy and Fuel subsidy removal. However, The cry is for hunger, hardship and poverty, a million kilometers of road won’t solve it. The poor doesn’t have money to buy unsubsidized fuel or vehicle to drive on the good road. Building 1000 Renewed Hope houses won’t solve it, the poor don’t have money to buy the houses when it’s ready, the can’t even afford a meal per day. increasing electricity Tarriff won’t solve it, it will only kill their small businesses. the grammar of Macro economics and pouring out huge figures on media everyday by the economic team with little benefit to the very poor will not solve the hunger and poverty, even students loan will not solve poverty for people who can’t even afford to send their children for basic primary education not to talk of secondary and university. The core still remains only Poverty Alleviation will solve the hunger and pain through well targeted Social Protection Programs aimed at the poor without bureaucratic bottlenecks necks attached
By suspending one sector now everyone is on suspension. No more siren, Members of Federal Executive Council can’t go to work. National Assembly suspends sitting and ask all workers there to stay at home. Judiciary has suspended sitting and gone for vacation. Even those within Government, around Mr President who planned and sponsored attack on that sector, didn’t know it will deteriorate to this point and probably eat them up.
Our Dear President, you have wasted enough time trying to play to the gallery, the gallery is falling, the stage is collapsing fast. Before it gets out of hand kindly address the root cause of the problem. Sincerely, sharing rice won’t even solve the problem as it is now that sector must be reactivated and sincere heavy investments made. Today is just day one and several lives have been lost… let the nation not deteriorate to anarchy. We love you, we support you and we must tell you the obvious truth if we want you to succeed.
