Calabar Junior Carnival signals hope for tomorrow – Gab Onah

From Aniekan Aniekan, Calabar

Gab Onah, the Chairman of the Cross River State Carnival Commission, says the Calabar Junior Carnival is a sign of hope for tomorrow.

He disclosed this at the Zoo Garden in Calabar while flagging off the Dry Run in preparation for this year’s Junior Carnival.

He acknowledged the contribution of the wife of the State Governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, in reintroducing the carnival, which has now been re-christened the “Junior Carnival.”

“Children’s Carnival has now been re-christened Junior Carnival, and the state governor alongside his wife have decided to make a change and prepare for the future with this carnival.

“The theme for this year’s carnival is ‘Our Shared Prosperity,’ and this is instructive of what the future holds for us.

“Today, you can see children with very colourful attires, and they are telling us that tomorrow is assured,” he said.

Flagging off the Dry Run, the wife of the Cross River State Governor, Bishop Eyoanwan Otu, said children will not be excluded from the administration’s “Season of Sweetness.”

The governor’s wife, who was represented by Professor Esther Archibong, reaffirmed her passion for the welfare of children in the state.
