C/River LG chairman Hon. Princess Ada  bags chieftaincy title in Abia State

The Executive Chairman of Biase Local Government Council, Cross River State, Hon. Princess Ada Charles Egwu was on Saturday conferred with the chieftaincy title, ADA DI ORA NMA 1 by Ututu Council of Traditional Rulers, Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State.

 

The grand-styled and wellcoloured ceremony with mammoth crowd which held at the Ututu Central School, AmoduUtutu, had an array of dignitaries from within and outside Abia State.

 

While conferring the chieftaincy tittle, the Obi Ubiukom II of UbiukomUtutu Autonomous Community, HRH Eze Hon. MandellaArunsi Okereke said, the conferment was not just in recognition of the Chairman’s relentless efforts in resolving conflicts between the people (Iheosu) of Arochukwu Local Government Area of Abia State and the people (Utuma) in Biase Local Government Area of Cross River State but for her philanthropic disposition to the less privilege, exemplary leadership and passion for the development of Biase Local Government under her watch as Chairman and the nation at large.

Responding, the Council Chairman, who was full of excitement for the honour, expressed her heartfelt gratitude to God Almighty, the Ututu Council of Traditional Rulers which has deemed fit to honour her.

 

“I dedicate this Chieftaincy tittle to my mentor and gender-friendly boss, His Excellency, Senator Prof. Ben Ayade the Governor of Cross State, his dear wife, Dr (Mrs) Linda Ayade and my father and leader, His Excellency, Prof. IvaraEjemotEsu, OFR, his dear wife, Her Excellency, MrsOmotundeIvaraEsuas well as the good people of Biase Local Government Area for providing me the platform to serve them, humanity and God.

“This honour is a call to do more for humanity as I will not to relent in my passionate efforts to play active role in the peacebuilding process between the people of Iheosu and Utuma in Arochukwu and Biase Local Government Area of Abia and Cross River States.

“This special recognition will further complement the efforts of my boss, the Governor, Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade and his deputy, Prof. IvaraEsu in smoothening the relationship between the States of Abia and Cross River”.

 

Other distinguished personalities who were also honoured includes Engr. Chief ChinemereOgbonnaya, MrOkechukwuIsiolu, Chief Sampson Okore, Mrs May UgochiUgwuh and Chief Sabastine Chinyere Ohiagu and Engr. Destiny U. O Obasi.

 

Others are Chief John IfereOkore, Chief Basil Obasi U. Nmecha and Hon. Chief Samuel Udeh among others.

 

The occasion featured traditional dances and displays as well as presentation of commemorative plaques and gift items to her and other award recipients.

 

The Vice Chairman of Biase Local Government Council, Hon. Oyono Ekpe, Special Adviser to the Council Chairman on Peace and Security, Hon. UkamOnette, Special Assistant to the Governor, Ministry of Justice, Barr. IjomUkam, Special Assistant to the Deputy Governor of Cross River State on New Media, Comr. Owai Obo and the Chapter Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, DcnMizamArikpo and some members of his Exco, (Chapter Secretary, Mr. Policy Aniyom Woman Leader, Mrs Glory Egong) and the Chief Protocol Officer to the Chairman, Mr. OyonoEyakaccompanied the Council Chairman to the conferrment ceremony.

 

Others are former leader of Legislative Assembly, Hon. Susan Ukpai, former Councillor representing Abayong Ward, Hon. OnetteOnette, Chairman of APC Ward Chairmen Forum, Mr. Franklin Egbai and other members of the forum, APC Women in Biase and party faithfuls among others.
