Presidential aide, Daniel Bwala and broadcaster, Oseni Rufai on Monday morning engaged in a war of words on X over the latter’s rumoured suspension.

Rufai, a journalist with Arise TV, was rumoured to have been suspended last week.

The co-host of ‘The Morning Show’ denied the allegation, insisting he only proceeded on leave.

On Monday, the journalist, who has famously clashed with several public figures including Bwala on his show, took to X to announce his resumption of duties.

However, in a statement released on X shortly after, Bwala accused Rufai of spreading lies about him.

“My attention was drawn to a jibe by an adult toddler, @ruffydfire, saying I went to their station when he was not around.

“First of all, I want to congratulate you for showing off a meta glass you bought or DEM dash you during your break or alleged suspension.

“Secondly, I was in Lagos for a media tour with all TV stations and other platforms. During this period, you have been in Lagos (maybe your alleged suspension included prohibition from traveling out of Lagos), and your producer could have recalled you from alleged suspension to attend my interview.”

Bwala challenged the Arise TV management to schedule a one-on-one interview with Rufai at its studio in Abuja.

Reacting, Rufai described Bwala as “a
government official that thrives on lies”.

He added, “Dear Bwala, Provide details of my alleged suspension.

“If you don’t provide my suspension letter. Then you should never be taken seriously!

“Bwala if you can’t provide my suspension letter to corroborate your lies then I will never take you seriously again.”

He also expressed readiness for the interview should the station’s management sanction it.

“As usual you will be asking for water when the interview starts!” Rufai stated.

In February, the duo clashed on Rufai’s show, with the presidential aide accusing the journalist of asking him questions like he was a secondary school student.
