The 2023 governorship candidate of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Taraba State, Senator Emmanuel Bwacha, has declared his intention to contest the 2027 governorship poll in the state.
He cited Governor Agbu Kefas’ alleged abysmal performance as reason for his resolve.
Bwacha, who spoke in Jalingo during a reception in his honour, recalled that he had earlier vowed not to re-contest if the administration delivered good governance. He, however, alleged that the government has prioritised self-serving projects over people-oriented development.

“At Ashuku, during my sister Alice’s burial, I said I would not contest again if dividends of democracy reached the people. Sadly, hardship has deepened, and suffering has increased. That is why I have decided to step forward again,” he said.
He accused the administration of poor economic planning, lack of transparency, and rising debt, claiming the state’s debt profile had surged significantly.
“Our state faces failing infrastructure, underfunded education, and excessive borrowing without accountability,” he added.
Bwacha pledged to usher in a new era of transparency, unity and real progress that would focus on structural development rather than cosmetic projects. He urged residents to reject divisive politics and embrace unity.
