Burkina Faso President and huge football fan, Ibrahim Traore, has questioned how his country’s team missed out on playing at a continental Playoffs for the 2026 World Cup when put up against the Super Eagles.

Burkina Faso barely failed to make next month’s Playoffs in Morocco on an inferior goals difference after they were tied on same 15 points with the Super Eagles.

Super Eagles enjoyed a +7 goals difference as against +6 of Burkina Faso.

Presidential sources said President Traore has asked for a detailed explanation of the situation.

Burkina Faso experienced defender Steve Yago said he was also baffled as to how his country fell out of the race.

“Honestly, it’s strange you win your games against the weakest teams in your group, yet Nigeria are ahead of you even though they couldn’t beat Zimbabwe, who are last in their group,” Yago reasoned.

“Apparently, beating the bottom team is too mainstream.

“Thank you, CAF and FIFA!

“My career is nearing its end, so I will start studying the system to criticize you properly soon.”
