Suspected  burglars have invaded the Imo State House of Assembly complex,  carting away valuables including electronics and vital documents belonging to lawmakers.
It was gathered that the thieves gained entry into the offices of the lawmakers from the ceiling. This would be the third invasion of the hallowed chambers of the  assembly since the beginning of the year.
Emmanuel Orie, representing  Ohaji/Egbema state constituency whose office was burgled also disclosed that three of his colleagues also had their offices vandalised.
“My office and three other of my colleagues, Mike Ihenatu (Aboh Mbaise), Uche Oguwuike (Ikeduru) and Uche Agabiga(Orsu) were vandalised by armed men whom we learnt came through the ceiling, carted away electronics, office equipment and some vital documents.”
A staff of the Assembly who does not want his name to be mentioned told Daily Sun that they got to know about the incident  when staff of the lawmakers who reported for duties yesterday noticed that the chairs in their offices had been turned upside down while  computers, documents and television were missing.
Chief Press Secretary to the speaker, Ben Ilochonwu confirmed the development.
However, when contacted,
Imo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Andrew Enwerem who confirmed the incident added that  the matter was under investigation.
