Nigeria‘s singer Henry Gikachukwu popularly known as Aromabagz is brave enough to live the life of his dreams according to vision and purpose rather than live for the expectations and opinions of others. For those who care to listen,he says he is not ready to embark on a wild goose chase with blossoming career in music. His modest aspiration is to be among the best. “Aspirations for me hits differently so for now i just want to be a global artist,” quipped the Delta State born singer.
Henry who forayed into music five years ago after the death of his father said he is ready to live out his father’s legacy. “I started music in 2020 after I lost my dad which was a tragic moment for me. He used to be a DJ back in the days and wasn’t allowed to do music because of his family. So I am continuing with his legacy for a star to be raised. Personally I have always wanted to do music but due to financial constraints I have always been locked up,”

So far the young artiste has recorded a number of songs four of which made it out of the vault. “I recorded a cover by Dai Verse, recorded ‘Grace’ ‘She’s Mean’ ‘The Enchantment Ayoh’. Also I have a new record ‘Lost Love’ which would be aired soon,” he recalled, continuing,”my utmost desire has been to make music that would be globally consumed.” He however added that, “being heard as an artist residing outside Nigeria with little or no financial backing to push myself has also been a huge challenge for me.”
The singer is not unaware of the important place fans occupy in entertainers’ dreams and aspirations.So, he is poised to serve his fans whom he fondly refer to as ‘my family’ real value for their trust and love for him. “In terms of music for my fans whom I take as my family, I intend to give them good music with chilled vibes to consume. I’m not a rave lord but my music would be therapeutic for the soul and my fans(family). So henceforth we would be getting more of that,” he promised.
Just as it is for most upcoming artistes, Henry says living out his dream in the music industry has not been less challenging. ” As an independent artiste, trust me when i say it’s really challenging especially with no record deals or label deals. Finance is everything an artist needs and also a proper management willing to push you to the top without playing financial politics. So as an independent artiste, it’s one of the most difficult phase,” he said with optimism as he looks forward to securing a good label deal and endorsements, “hopefully this year or next year… the world should be ready for us ‘ROMANS’, ” he concluded.
