By John Ogunsemore

The body of former President Muhammadu Buhari is on its way to his hometown, Daura, after arriving in Katsina on Tuesday afternoon.

The body, draped in Nigerian colours and accompanied by Vice President Kashim Shettima, Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, and some family members of the late former president, landed at the airport runway at about 1:59 pm.

Personnel of the Nigerian Armed Forces brought down the body from the Nigerian Air Force aircraft at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua International Airport in Katsina, Katsina.

The state governor, Dikko Radda and other state government officials, as well as Deputy Senate President Barau Jibril, were on ground to receive the body.

The ex-President is scheduled to be buried today, two days after he died in a London clinic, aged 82.

Daily Sun earlier reported that President Bola Tinubu has landed in the state alongside other prominent individuals ahead of the burial ceremony.
