President Muhammadu Buhari has expressed sadness over the death of former governor of the old Kaduna state, Alhaji Lawal Kaita.
Buhari who said he got the sad news Kaita, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), Tuesday evening, described the deceased as a complete gentleman who served his people and the nation with total commitment and devotion.
The President Buhari, according to a statement by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, extended his deepest condolences to the family, the Government and people of Katsina and Kaduna states on the sad demise of the elder statesman.
“Nigeria has lost a distinguished leader. We are all saddened by his demise. May his soul Rest In Peace,” said the President.
