• As group mourns, says ex-president a true hero
Federal Executive Council (FEC) will hold a special session today to pay tribute to former president Muhammadu Buhari.
In a statement issued by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Bola Tinubu is set to lead the session in honour of the late leader.
The session was initially scheduled for an earlier date Tuesday, July 15, but was postponed to due to the state funeral that took place in his hometown of Daura on the same day. Also the Federal Government had declared Tuesday a public holiday in honour of the late president.
Meanwhile, a group, Forward With President Tinubu 2027, (FWPT), has mourned the demise of the late former president Muhammadu Buhari, whose death in the United Kingdom was announced by the Federal Government on Sunday, describing him as an epitome of meritorious service to humanity, iconic and visionary leader who set the foundation for a new Nigeria.

Director General of the group, Comrade Peter Ilefa in a statement issued in Abuja, said the African continent has lost one of its greatest leaders whose hallmark was integrity, discipline, and moral probity, noting Buhari was a rare gift to his generation.
Ilefa who led the group on a courtesy visit to Dr. Fatima Buhari, a patroness of the group, noted that the political pressure group shares in the pain and sorrow of the bereaved family, adding that the transition of the former president was an inevitable phenomenon for all mortals, big or small, as urge the family and the good people of Katsina State to take solace in the fact that the late General is in a good place.
He condoled with President Bola Tinubu, saying the group remains resolute to ensure that memories of the departed patriot and father of the nation remains evergreen as he called on Nigerians to demonstrate patriotism, fear of God, national solidarity and good conscience at all times.
