BUA Group’s strategy of investing in local production and expanding industrial capacity has helped drive the combined market value of its two listed subsidiaries, BUA Foods and BUA Cement, to nearly N24 trillion.
Executive Chairman of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu stated this when he received the Edge Industrial Leadership Icon of the Year award, while BUA Group was named Edge Outstanding Industrial Brand of the Year by MarketingEdge.
The awards recognised the growth of BUA under Rabiu’s leadership and its investments across critical sectors, including food production, cement, ports and terminals, construction materials and other areas of the economy.
Receiving the awards on behalf of Rabiu, Group Chief Operating Officer, Chimaobi Madukwe, said the Group’s expansion had been driven by a long-term commitment to local production and industrial development.
“Our Executive Chairman believes in local production and building businesses for the long term, and that has shaped BUA’s journey,” Madukwe said.

He said the recognitions were an affirmation of the Group’s long-term investment strategy, industrial expansion and confidence in Nigeria.
“For us, these recognitions affirm a journey defined by long-term investment, industrial expansion and an enduring confidence in Nigeria.
They also remind us of our responsibility to keep building, creating jobs, expanding local capacity and delivering value at scale,” he said.
Madukwe thanked MarketingEdge for the recognition and attributed the achievements to the collective efforts of the wider BUA Group. BUA’s expansion has increasingly positioned the group as a major player in Nigeria’s industrial landscape, with its interests spanning food manufacturing, cement, ports and terminals, construction materials and other strategic sectors.
The Edge Awards, held annually, recognise companies and brands in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods sector, as well as advertising, brand management and public relations agencies involved in building leading brands.
