Management of Babcock University (BU), Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has expelled Oladipupo Siwajuola, the student who went missing, for gross violation of the university’s rules and regulations.

After Oladipupo’s mysterious disappearance on April 28,  his mother, via a recorded video that went viral, accused the university of negligence, complicity and demanded that BU produce her son.

A statement by the Director of Marketing and Communication, Dr. Joshua Suleiman, said Oladipupo was expelled after a thorough investigation revealed many infractions, which include impersonation, drug peddling on campus, occult practices, Yahoo Yahoo Plus and leaving the university without authorisation.

Oladipupo left BU on April  28, 2025, through the university’s teaching hospital gate without permission.

His mother had claimed that he was abducted and was found by his secondary school friends, but the institution discovered that he stayed in Lagos with a friend named Sodiq.

According to BU, Sodiq’s mother discovered him and returned him to his family after she learnt of the online drama surrounding his disappearance.

He disclosed that on May 15, Sodiq, accompanied by his father, voluntarily gave a statement to the BU security unit, which was corroborated before the Students Disciplinary Committee.

Oladipupo, the statement noted, admitted to purchasing and using fetish substances from a herbalist for N100,000, which contradicts his mother’s claims that she gave him the black soap for a skin condition.

The university also confirmed that Oladipupo peddled drugs and was apprehended by its security personnel before his sudden disappearance.

BU’s investigation further discovered that he impersonated a student and used his National Identification Number (NIN) to open a bank account.

The university also discovered that he sold his phone and lied that his father approved of the transaction.

Further investigation revealed that he borrowed N500,000 from an online loan platform to fund his gambling habit.

Based on his confessional statement and the findings of the Students Disciplinary Committee, BU found him guilty of multiple offences, including unauthorised exit from the campus, possession and use of fetish materials, drug peddling, impersonation and dishonesty, and unauthorised sale of personal property.

BU explained that the decision to expel him was made in line with its disciplinary policy, which seeks to uphold a secure and morally sound learning environment.

The statement added that he has the right to appeal the decision as provided in the student handbook.

The university management condemned the malicious and unfounded allegations made by his mother, who accused BU of failing to ensure her son’s safety.

The university, however, commended the responsible conduct and integrity of Oladipupo’s father.

In the statement, BU management reiterated its commitment to transparency, discipline and moral integrity in handling student affairs.

The institution urged parents and guardians to guide their wards towards accountability and truth.
