Britannia-U: Fire incident now under control — Management

Britannia-U has spoken on the recent fire incident which occurred on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at its Floating Production Storage and Offloading Facility (FPSO), assuring that the inferno is now under control.

Sharing an update in a statement issued by its CEO, Uju Ifejika and made available to Daily Sun, the integrated energy company revealed that an investigation had commenced into the incident.

It also appreciated the efforts of companies like Shell, NNPCL, and members of the public who showed support during the fire outbreak.

“Brittania -U wishes to update the general public that the fire incident which occurred on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at its Floating Production Storage and Offloading Facility (FPSO) situated at the former OML 90 field, now PML 6, offshore Ogulagha Kingdom offshore Warri, is now under control.

“The Company has commenced a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the fire incident and will share further updates with the public as soon as possible.

“Brittania -U Management wishes to express its sincere appreciation to Shell, the Nigerian Navy, NUPRC, NNPCL, NIMASA, and all well-meaning Nigerians who showed support during the fire outbreak”, the statement reads.
