Super Eagles and Werder Bremen striker, Victor Boniface has been in the headlines of late, and not for football reasons, Soccernet.ng reports.

The 24-year-old is yet to find the back of the net for his new side after joining on loan from Bayer 04 Leverkusen on the transfer deadline day.

However, his social media posts have raised concerns recently, especially after he shared a cryptic and, in some eyes, disrespectful post on his Instagram story.

“If you waste your money on too many women, you will not achieve anything in life. Find yourself one or two women and settle down. At most three women, or if you are going through a lot, four is also okay,” Boniface wrote.

Boniface also wrote – “Life is like a shoe, you can’t drink a cow because the earth is a carrot” – which stirred frowns.

Werder Bremen head coach, Horst Steffen, has revealed that the social media perception of Boniface is not who he is in reality.

“I’ve gotten to know him as a very lovely person; he’s very likeable, approachable, and dedicated to the team,” the 56-year-old told the Süddeutsche Zeitung.

“We laugh a lot together; I think it’s great when a player has such a sense of humour and shows such joy.

“He’s fit right in with our group. I don’t know what others say or how it was elsewhere,” the 56-year-old concluded.

Despite Boniface’s impressive social skills with his teammates and the club’s staff, he has to improve his performances on the pitch.
