Fighters with the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND) prepare for an operation against the Nigerian army in Niger Delta on September 17, 2008. Suspected militants and vandals operating in the Ishawo area of Lagos at the weekend hacked down five policemen operating in area.
Details of the killings were still sketchy but Daily Sun reports that the men were responding to a distress call from a suspected kidnapped victim when they were ambushed by the militants.
