Trump injured in US rally shooting, one feared killed

Trump-shooting

Former President Donald Trump was injured during a shooting at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on Saturday evening.

According to the Secret Service, a gunman and at least one attendee are dead, with two others in critical condition.

Trump reported on social media that he was struck in the “upper part of my right ear” by a bullet. The Secret Service confirmed he is safe after being rushed offstage with blood on his face, and a spokesperson reassured that Trump is “fine” following the “heinous act.”

The Secret Service stated that the shooter fired multiple rounds from an “elevated position” outside the rally before being killed by agents. The incident is being investigated as an attempted assassination.

President Joe Biden condemned the violence in a Saturday night address and expressed gratitude that Trump is safe.
