With barely three days after the Military repelled an attack on its Baracks at New Bussa in Borgu local government area of Niger state, by some Terrorists suspected to be members of dreaded Boko Haram, no fewer than five members of the local hunters have been killed by Terrorists.
The Terrorists also abducted scores of travelers at Garin Gabas in Rafi local government area of the state.
The latest incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when the Terrorists were said to have ambushed the hunters who were responding to a destress call after the Terrorists had blocked the ever busy Minna Kontagora highway.
The unspecified number of the abducted travelers were those traveling to Kontagora from Minna, the state capital.
A local source close to the town where the incident occurred, told our Correspondent on telephone that the terrorists came in over 40 motorcycles and took over the highway.
According to our source, the number of passengers abducted could not be ascertained as over five vehicles were stopped and its passengers taken away.
Aside ambushing the local hunters, our source said the Terrorists overpowered them due to their numbers and the sophistication of their weapons.  Many of the hunters were equally injured during the attack.
Both the government and the state police command is yet to issue a statement on the attack.
