Gunmen suspected to be herdsmen have killed a Divisional Police Officer, (DPO), SP. Mamud Abubakar, in Benue state.
SP. Mamud Abubakar, before his death was in charge of the police division in Naka, Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue state.
Information regarding the killing was scanty as at the time of filing this report but a source who doesn’t want to be named told newsmen, in Makurdi, that the herdsmen blocked Makurdi – Naka road on Tuesday evening where the DPO was killed in cold blood.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Benue State Police Command, SP Catherine Anene, confirmed the incident.
In a mesaage, Anene said “Death of the DPO Naka confirmed. His name is SP. Mamud Abubakar. Details will follow soon please.”
