The boxing Promoters Association of Nigeria, under the leadership of Mr Omonlei Yakubu Imadu, the CEO of Yucateco Boxing Promotions and his vice, Alhaji Wasiu Alabi Waheed of De Lads Boxing Promotions continues  its commitment to enhancing grassroots boxing in Nigeria.

At the ongoing 8th National Youth Games in Asaba, Delta State, BPAN generously pledged N500,000 in the form of a one-year scholarship.

The donation will be awarded to the overall best male and female boxers participating in the games as a way to encourage and support  young talents.

Speaking on behalf of the association, BPAN spokesperson, Madam Edna Bola Aiyegbeni, who is also the CEO of  E. Francis Aiyegbeni Boxing Promotions, highlighted the immense talent among Nigerian youths.

“Nigeria is blessed with abundant talents in every field, and this should inspire our athletes to compete on equal footing with their counterparts around the world.”

Concluding her remarks, Madam Aiyegbeni, often referred to as “ Iron Lady of Boxing,” reaffirmed BPAN’s ongoing commitment to supporting boxing at all levelsa.

“We will continue to stand by the sport and its athletes, ensuring that Nigerian boxing thrives both locally and internationally. The gesture by BPAN reinforces our dedication to ensure the growth and development of boxing in Nigeria, particularly at the grassroots level,” she submitted.
