A 13-year-old boy knocked his drunk father, 32-year-old Daniel Hernandez-Lopez, unconscious after the man allegedly tried to strangle the teenager’s mother during a domestic argument at their home in Foley, Alabama, United States, authorities said.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded Monday night, March 9, to a residence in Foley after receiving a report that Hernandez-Lopez had attempted to strangle his wife during a dispute.

After the alleged assault, the man stepped out but was confronted by the couple’s 13-year-old son, the sheriff’s office said.

Hernandez-Lopez allegedly lunged at the boy and attempted to strike him with a bicycle.

In response, the teenager punched his dad several times in the face, knocking him unconscious.

When officers arrived, they found Hernandez-Lopez unconscious and appearing highly intoxicated.

Hernandez-Lopez was arrested the following day, charged with domestic violence strangulation and booked into the Baldwin County Jail.

His booking photo showed swelling and bruising to his face.

No charges were reported against the boy.

Meanwhile, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) said on Monday, March 16, that it had issued a detainer on Hernandez-Lopez, whom it described as a “criminal illegal alien charged with domestic violence and strangulation”.
