Ahead of the 2027 mobilisation process, the Borno State Chapter of the Obidient Movement (OM) on Wednesday inaugurated its Borno State chapter in Maiduguri, marking a historic milestone in the growth, expansion, and consolidation of the task ahead.

The inauguration ceremony, under the leadership of Mr. Ayuba Wakawa, brought together a wide range of stakeholders, community leaders, youth representatives, women’s groups, civil society actors, and political associates who turned out in large numbers to witness this landmark event.

Dr. Tanko, who was the special guest of honour during the occasion, delivered a goodwill message, commending the resilience, unity, and commitment of the good people of Borno State.

Dr. Tanko stated that the successful conduct of the Borno State Chapter inauguration demonstrates that, in the face of challenges, the will of the people will always prevail when guided by unity, discipline, and determination.

He said, “Landmark event is not only a victory for the Obedient Movement but also a clear indication that together, Nigerians can build a stronger, more inclusive, peaceful, and prosperous nation. Indeed, a True Nigerian is Possible.”

Meanwhile, leadership of the Obidient has strongly condemned the insecurity incident that claimed lives and properties in the State and conveyed the heartfelt condolences of Mr. Peter Obi, who, through his message, extended sympathy and solidarity to the Governor, the families of the victims, and the entire people of Borno State.

Dr. Tanko emphasised that the establishment of the OM Borno State Chapter is timely and strategic, as it provides a platform for promoting inclusive governance, fostering peace, advancing grassroots development, and reinforcing the unity of Nigerians across all divides.
