The Borno State Police Command has announced the death of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Abubakar A. Balteh, who died on Saturday, February 21, 2026, following a fatal road accident.
In a statement issued on the X social media platform by the Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Nahum Kenneth Daso.
The police PRO described Balteh’s passing as a painful loss to the Nigeria Police Force and the Borno State Command.

“Until his demise, ACP Balteh served as the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID),” he said.
The command stated that details regarding burial arrangements and other related information would be communicated in due course.
