Bolt, Africa’s ride-hailing platform, has revealed that its top 50 drivers in Nigeria earned an average of N9,662,105 over the first six months of 2025.
This translates to a monthly average of N1,610,351, notably higher than the₦N1.2 million monthly average recently reported by a competing platform, InDrive, for the same period.
The earnings data reflects Bolt’s continued investment in driver support, incentive schemes and operational improvements to ensure a rewarding experience for its driver community. These figures also highlighted the growing demand for ride-hailing services in Nigeria, driven by increased urban mobility needs and rider trust in Bolt’s affordable, safe, and accessible services.
The N9.6 million average over six months was calculated based on gross trip earnings, inclusive of bonuses and incentives available to drivers who consistently maintained high ratings, accepted ride requests and completed a large volume of trips.
Bolt continues to roll out a range of initiatives aimed at enhancing driver wellbeing, such as fuel support, safety features, flexible working hours, and reward schemes while also improving service quality for riders across the country.
Osi Oguah, general manager, Bolt Nigeria, said: “At Bolt, we are committed to creating economic opportunities for our driver partners. This report demonstrates that consistent engagement on the platform can yield substantial financial rewards. We remain focused on improving the driver experience and ensuring sustainability in the gig economy.”
The company remains a critical driver of economic empowerment across Nigeria, offering thousands of drivers a flexible and scalable way to earn income while supporting broader mobility needs.
