The Director General of the Nasarawa State Emergency Management Agency, Mr. Zachary Allumaga has said the Agency NASEMA and the Nasarawa state government are not aware of the internally Displaced persons from the Northeastern part of the country settling in Karu LGA of the state for 7years as a result of Boko Haram insurgency.

Alumaga made the disclosure yesterday when he addressed journalist on the issue saying the right channel of information was not properly documented which made it difficult to identify with the IDPs.

He accused the Karu local government council of not following due process as he said no fewer than seven Internally Displaced Person’s (IDP) camps were operating illegally in the state in Karu Local government Area of the Nasarawa state.

He further said the essence of the press briefing is to tell the whole world that the right thing have being followed and the Gov, Abdullahi Sule would be visiting the IDP camps in Karu to interact with the displaced person’s and donate relief materials to them to cushion their hardship.

He however, regret over the the councils inability to avail the Agency on the existence of the IDP camps in Karu in the last seven years without the knowledge of the agency.

Daily Sun reports that the IDP Camps has been in existence for more than seven years and being occupied by displaced person suspected to have escaped from North East part of the country.

It was also gathered that the alleged displaced person’s were since offered a place of aboard by the authority of Karu Local government Council, provided with about 4 hectares of land for farming, established a beans market where the IDPs are marketing their products.
