Boko Haram Conflict: Army takes delivery of donated arms, equipment

The Nigerian Army on Thursday took delivery of some fighting equipment, arms and ammunition, donated by one of its foreign defense partners.

The equipments, delivered to Army authorities at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, include armored tank engines, bullet proof vests and spare parts for armoured vehicles.

Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, Chairman of the Reception Committee Brig Gen Olufemi Akinjobi said the weapons would go a long way to support army efforts at upgrading its armory.

He, however, did not disclose the foreigner partner which donated the equipment.
