Talented rising artiste, BM Casso is giddy with excitement for a reason regarding his upcoming single. The singer has pushed himself further by landing a collaboration with popular ballad crooner, Ric Hassani.

According to BM Casso whose real name is Tochukwu Uzokwe, the new single would be released via digital to his fans on February 17, 2003.

BM Casso rates himself as a versatile Afrobeat artiste. With rap music as his primary interest, he has fluidity with other music genres including reggae. The rapper has released previous singles such as ‘Professional Lover’ and ‘Faaji’ among others. He also has a mixtape to his credit titled ‘Senior Man.’

Giving more hints about what to expect, he disclosed, “With this single, I wanted to create a love song based on the yearnings of my female fans. My last mixtape, Senior Man didn’t have a love song and I knew I had to work on it on my next release. I have had good receptions in the past when I create love songs like “Professional Lover” and “Faaji”. The theme is around seeking forgiveness from someone you hurt. It’s about recognizing the value of a loved one and being bold enough to ask them to come back. Lovers of good music would like this one.”

BM Casso also revealed how he struck a chemistry with one of Nigeria’s favourite love crooner, Ric Hassani. He explained, “As expected, it wasn’t an easy feature to get at all. Ric is one of the top guys in Africa as a whole, and globally, with this type of sound and it took a lot of work to get him on this song especially because he’s busy as well and with his reputation, it took a while for the song to get in front of him. But once the music got to him, he loved it and vibed with it instantly. He was done with his part in a matter of hours and ofcourse, he did not disappoint. I love his verse so much and I’m glad and honored to have him on this track. It means a lot to me. I want to thank my brother, Krizblac for setting this up for me.”

Raised in densely populated Lagos suburb, Orile, BM Casso caught the music bug from as early as age nine. Though he grew in Lagos however, he hails from Aguata Local Government in Anambra State. He had his early education first at Beloved Primary School from where he moved to Command Day Secondary School, Ojo, also in Lagos. “I actually started with mumble rapping and recording into my elder brother’s phone and he would encourage me to write down lyrics to the flows I was recording. I listened to a lot of Lil Wayne growing up, and the Plantashun Boiz, Psquare and Styl Plus. Also listened to a lot of West life and Backstreet Boys, thanks to my sisters. I would say these people inspired me musically, growing up,” he recalled.
