The trailer for the Nigerian feature film Black Market has been released ahead of its planned Guinness World Record attempt in Lagos in September.
The film is scheduled to be screened on September 26, 2026, at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, as organisers target a new record for the largest number of people watching a film at a single location.
The organisers are targeting an audience of 50,000 people, seeking to surpass the existing record of 43,000 spectators.
Black Market was written by Abdul Tijani-Ahmed and Fatimah Binta Gimsay, who also directed the movie.
Shot in Abeokuta, Ogun State, the film features actors including Lateef Adedimeji, Linda Ejiofor-Suleiman, Itele D Icon, Scarlet Gomez, Omowunmi Dada, Teniola Aladese, Susan Pwajok and Uzor Arukwe.

Others in the cast include Folagade Banks, Tomiwa Tegbe, Andrew Yaw Bunting, Shamz Garuba and Adeoluwa Akintoba.
Speaking about the project, Gimsay said the final version of the film brought together different creative ideas developed during the writing process.
“It is so surreal when you go from what is in your head and see it come to life. We have been attached to different versions of the script, but the final version felt different. We finally felt like we merged all our tones,” she said.
The September screening will form the basis of the planned Guinness World Record attempt, with organisers seeking to establish a new benchmark for the number of people who can watch a film at one location.
