Chairman Wine and Beverages Importers Association of Nigeria (WBIAN) Chief Jude Okonkwo, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to look into the high tariff rate on imported goods and use his good offices to reduce it. He made this statement in a chat with the media recently.
His words: “The government should reduce the tariff on imported goods to 5 percent. This will stop importers from going to Cotonou to clear their goods. He should also reduce the amount of clearing goods at the port which is presently on the high side. If the 5 percent is operational, it will promote good business transaction, in the country,” he noted.
