The national leader of#EndBadGovernanaceinNigeria Movement, Faruq Musa Muhammad has decried the inability of the police in Lagos to trial in Court crossdresser, Okuneye Idris, popularly known as Bobrisky for violating the anti-gay law in the country.
The security consultant has threatened to go to any length in order to ensure that Idris was committed to jail.
Mohammed ,who is based in the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), Abuja, said he petitioned the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun over the sexual activities of Bobrisky.
He said the IGP directed the Lagos state Police command to investigate Idris,but regretted that many months after the directive, the police in Lagos is unable to cary out the IGP’s directives.
In his strongly worded petition, to the commissioner of Police, the businessman, stated that: “ Bobrisky’s recent social media posts, which allegedly depicts sexual acts between men, violates Nigeria’s Same-sex Marriage Prohibition Act.”
He cited two video clips posted by Bobrisky on his verified Facebook account, each containing explicit content adding that the videos promoted homosexuality and disrespected Nigeria law, which prohibits same-sex relationships and activities.
He contended that Bobrisky’s actions did not only flout the law,but also mocked the Nigeria legal system by flaunting his perceived immunity as a public figure.
According to him,” I took action against Bobrisky to save Nigeria from God’s calamity, but the policemen at the Lagos state Command have been illegally trying to divert the directive of the IGP on the matter as they invited, detained and granted him bail on September 4, 2024, without informing me as the petitioner or the general public. That’s what made me become very skeptical over the matter. I suspect that something suspicious and dubious happened to silence the case. If this happens, it will mean that a historical betrayal has been committed against the Nigeria state.
“As a patriotic Nigerian and an indigene of Kano state, I have featured in any interviews condemning the activities of Bobrieky,and calling on the police to check his excesses without commensurate action. Bobriesky has posted himself and other men engaging in homosexuality.
“ The videos he posted on the social media had clearly violated the Nigeria’s Same-sex Marriage Prohibition Act, 2013 as the section 5 (1). The section 5 (2) of the Act, also makes some further clarification on the person that has directly or indirectly involved himself or herself in “same-sex amorous relationship” the same way Mr. Bobrisky was performing with another man in mentioned videos.
“ Bobrisky, has been creating and posting the above mentioned videos on the social media in order to promote homosexuality and LGBT in Nigeria; contrary to the Nigerian law. Bobrisky, is always referring himself as “Mommy of Lagos” in order to brag and mock the Lagos State and Nigeria in particular; and to show the world that he is above the “Nigerian Law” as he is still promoting homosexuality and LGBT activities freely in Nigeria. “I am, therefore, calling on the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command to use his good office and invite Mr Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju (Bobrisky) and take the appropriate action against him based on the reasons I stated above.”
