BitMARTe Industries Ltd has officially launched its e-commerce platform, with a pledge to tackle key challenges hindering online shopping in Nigeria and across Africa.
Speaking at the launch in Lagos, the company’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eke Eke, said the platform was developed to address regional realities, particularly delayed delivery, which he identified as a major barrier to e-commerce adoption. According to him, BitMARTe is focused on providing same-city, same-day delivery to meet urgent consumer needs.
Eke noted that the platform offers buyers access to a wide range of merchants and products, including locally made goods that are often limited on other platforms, a move he said would improve affordability and choice.
To encourage adoption, BitMARTe is rolling out promotional incentives, including a N1,000 gift card for the first 5,000 users who sign up, as well as referral rewards of N1,000 for users whose referrals register and make purchases. The referral programme, he said, is unlimited.
On payment security, Eke explained that buyers’ funds are held until they confirm satisfaction with their orders using a unique verification code, while a quality assurance team ensures products listed accurately reflect what is delivered. Damaged goods, he added, would be recalled and replaced.
He disclosed that the platform went live immediately after the launch and also revealed plans to support merchants with access to credit after six months of activity, using transaction and cash-flow data to assess eligibility.
Eke said the initiative is aimed at strengthening trust in online shopping while empowering merchants to grow sustainably.
