Most entrepreneurs chase profit. Christian entrepreneurs chase something bigger. The difference? Build businesses that serve people well, operate with integrity, and don’t compromise values to win. The ethical principles to achieve this have been a task Bishop Festus Olufemi Otusanya Omomajemu has embarked upon.
For the young vibrant Senior Pastor of the True Covenant Church of God (TCCG) Lagos, the goal should not just be building a business but to build a business that serves people well, operates with integrity, and doesn’t make you compromise your values to win. He is starting with some youth and even adults who are desirous of entrepreneurship but battled with the harsh realities of the system fraught with uncertainties occasioned by unfavourable government policies. The cleric has set up a foundation to host a free training programme for these set of people in order to make them self-employed, navigate the business world and how to make their businesses become a going-concern as entrepreneurs.
For the trained chartered accountant and insurance broker of many years, the programme is not for his church members alone but other interested youths across Lagos and other states.
Omomajemu, widely recognized as the youngest Bishop in Nigeria — officially consecrated as Bishop on November 10, 2018 — began his ministry in a humble way. The ministry began from a small outreach in 2009 but grew into a full blown Church in 2011. He is, however, rolling out the drum in November to dedicate his church’s new auditorium on a date coinciding with his birthday.
