The Senior Pastor of the Cornerstone Christian Leadership Centre (House of Mercy), United Kingdom, Bishop Abayomi Anthony Olorunsaiye, has called for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the global church to spark a new wave of spiritual awakening.
Speaking ahead of his Holy Ghost Revival Conference scheduled for October 11 in Maryland, Lagos, Bishop Olorunsaiye said the church must rediscover its divine mandate as “the light of the world.”
“The church is God’s idea to help the world know and serve Him. It is time for the church to be the church,” he declared. “God’s end-time agenda is empowering the church to become an agent of change in this world.”
The cleric, who arrived in Nigeria from the United Kingdom for the revival meeting, described the Lagos event as the most ambitious move in his over 30 years in ministry. He said the three-hour Holy Ghost Revival Conference, which has already held in London and Calgary, Canada, is designed to strengthen churches and reignite believers’ faith.
“This is not about starting a new church,” Bishop Olorunsaiye explained. “We want people’s spiritual lives ignited so they can return to their churches and strengthen the hands of their pastors in doing the work of the Kingdom. Our main focus is to strengthen churches, not to start new ones.”
He urged Nigerian pastors to encourage their members to attend, noting that the revival would have a lasting positive impact on local congregations.
“Every pastor needs help, and having been one for over three decades, I know this is true. We have come to add our voice to the voices of pastors already doing their best,” he added.
Bishop Olorunsaiye announced that after the Lagos programme, the revival train would continue in 2026 to several cities, including Dallas (Texas), Maryland, Washington D.C., Glasgow (Scotland), Abuja (Nigeria), Toronto, and Calgary (Canada).
