The Catholic Archbishop of Metropolitan Archdiocese of Abuja, His Grace, Ignatius Ayau Kaigama, former President Christian Association of Nigeria CAN Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, and former Governor of Cross River State Donald Duke among others to storm Jalingo, the Taraba State capitol for a Three-day Ministers of the Gospel conference.
A statement issued in Jalingo on Monday night and signed by the State chairman of CAN and the secretary Very Rev. Fr. Williams Awoshiri and Rev. Dr Nelson Duna respectively, features the State Governor Agbu Kefas as the special guest of honour while Oritsejafor will be the guest speaker.
The statement reads in parts “the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Taraba State Chapter, has organized a three-day Ministers of the Gospel Conference, slated for Tuesday, 18th August to Thursday, 20th August, 2026, with the theme THE ROLES OF THE CHURCH AND THE STATE IN ADVANCING GOD’S PURPOSE IN A CHANGING WORLD.
“The venue of the conference is the State CAN Secretariat, along FGGC Road, Jalingo. Time is 8:30 am to 4:30pm daily.
“Special Guest of Honour at the three-day conference is, His Excellency, Dr. Agbu Kefas, Executive Governor of Taraba State. Guest Speaker is, former President of CAN, Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, other speakers include, former Governor of Cross River State, Donald Duke; former Vice President of CAN, Rev. Dr. Caleb Ahima; Anglican Archbishop of Jos Province, Benjamin Kwashi; and Catholic Archbishop of Metropolitan Archdiocese of Abuja, His Grace, Ignatius Ayau Kaigama.
“The three-day conference will bring together about 850 participants drawn from the 16 local government areas in the State and the two special development areas. It is aimed at fellowship, reflection, dialogue, and capacity building on the roles of the Church and the State in advancing God’s purpose on a changing world.
“Grand finale of the three-day conference is Friday, 21st August, 2026 with a launching of ₦10 billion for building of Ultra-Modern Christian Centre, Jalingo, under distinguished chairmanship of Rt. Hon. John Kizito Bonzena, Speaker of Taraba State House of Assembly, while Chief Launcher is Chief Niyi Adekoya and Deputy Chief Launcher is Chief Ayo Otuyalo”.
