Bishop of Osun Diocese, Rt Rev Foluso Babatunji, has blamed leaders in various sectors for the pains Nigerians are going through.
He said Nigerians are currently going through ‘excruciating pains’ because leaders in various sectors of the country do not know God.
Babatunji maintained that any nation and individual that neglect God, would always suffer for it, stressing that service to the Lord is the ultimate duty call of everyone.
He stated this on Sunday while delivering a sermon at the 30th Anniversary of Oke -Osun Anglican Diocese of the Anglican Communion held at St.Paul’s Cathedral Church, Gbongan, named: ‘The Pearl’s Celebrations.’
The mother of a former governorship aspirant in the state, Dotun Babayemi, Olori Waleade Babayemi, was invested as the Mother of the Diocese alongside other prominent individuals who were equally honored.
Babatunji said, “most leaders in our churches and those in various positions in the country at large don’t know God. This has been affecting so many things which turned our society upside down today. This explains the difficult situations we have found ourselves in,” he added.
He lamented that the development has affected everybody in the country, stressing, “that’s why everyone is suffering for it today with killings and kidnapping being witnessed. Many of our brethren in the north are being killed and kidnapped daily.”
Also at the event, the Bishop of Oke-Osun Diocese, Rt. Rev Oluwagbemiro Fabuluje while commending members of the Diocese, urged them not to relent in serving God with all of their beings.
