For far too long, it’s been the case that philanthropy’s biggest funders and figureheads are men who control the lion’s share of philanthropic capital and take the credit. But there are also some exceptional women who have shown just how real wealth can be put to good use in uplifting the voices of those in need. One of these few wealthy individuals is Dr. Aisha Achimugu. With a bouquet of resourcefulness and energy, Aisha has developed a strong passion for making a difference.

Blessed with immense wealth as one of the top players in the nation’s energy sector, yet the Abuja-based magnate is imbued with great humanness and modesty. There is no gainsaying that Aisha loves a good life —after all she works hard for her money. But unlike many in her elite class, the gorgeous businesswoman prioritises charity a great deal. She feels a compelling need to impact the society positively by lessening the burdens of the hoi polloi around her. Recently, Aisha once again had an opportunity to demonstrate that the rich simply have more to share. She was one of the special guests at a birthday soirée in Abuja organised by Global Initiative For Peace, Love and Care to celebrate the golden anniversary of oil magnate, Julius Rone. At the well-attended event, Aisha’s generosity of spirit was evident throughout the night. As part of the evening’s fête, the organisers had planned to raise the sum of N50 million for 50 ailing individuals who needed to undergo sundry surgeries. Aisha, as an ultra-high net worth guest, literally made the hall rise and tumble in joy. The Chief Executive officer of the Felak Group had announced a handsome donation of N20 million in support of the cause. Of course, her huge donation at the soiree changed the course of the night’s charity for greater good. Not done yet, the influential businesswoman also added colour to her donation as she gifted a seven year-old violin player with another N1 million. Aisha had given the young girl the monetary gift because she dazzled with her uncommon brilliance and rare talent.
