Benue State-born entertainer and US-based hypeman, Joseph Oche Udeh, popularly known as Big Smart, has made history after emerging as the first-ever winner of the Best Hypeman/MC award at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, Texas.
The landmark victory places Big Smart at the forefront of a new chapter in African entertainment, bringing international recognition to hypemen and masters of ceremonies whose roles in energising performances, engaging audiences and driving live events are increasingly gaining attention.
With a career spanning the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Dubai and several African countries, Big Smart has built a reputation as an entertainer capable of commanding stages and connecting with diverse audiences across international markets.
Beyond the stage, the award-winning entertainer is the Chief Executive Officer of Finish Media, an entertainment outfit focused on talent management and music promotion. His professional portfolio includes working with Nigerian artiste Goya Menor and collaborating with prominent African entertainers, including Davido.
